Bajan Out for upto a year

Sharp dual purpose performer Blue Bajan is out for about a year with a leg problem.

The eight-year-old, trained by Andy Turnell, won the Swinton Hurdle in 2008 and was second in the Yorkshire Cup last May. He was unplaced in the totesport Trophy at Newbury on his last start.

"I had hoped to run on Saturday against Punjabi at Kempton. He did his normal bit of work in the week. There was a bit of heat in his leg on Friday so we scanned it and there's a definite hole so he's out for a year, I'm afraid," said Turnell.

Blue Bajan had entries in the Smurfit Kappa Champion Hurdle and the Vincent O'Brien County Handicap Hurdle at Cheltenham as well as the sportingbet Supports Heroes Winter Derby on the Flat at Lingfield.
